What is a Non-B (Non-Immigrant Visa B)

Non – Immigrant Visa “B” or Non-B visa is a type B temporary stay visa issued to those who wish to travel to Thailand for work, business contact, attending meetings in Thailand. There are both single-entry Non-B visas with a validity of 3 months from the date of visa application and can stay in Thailand for no more than 90 days, and multiple-entry Non-B visas with a validity of 1 year from the date of visa application and can stay in Thailand for no more than 90 days per time, which will be issued only for business contact cases.

What is a Non-ED (Non-Immigrant Visa ED)?

Non-Immigrant “ED” or Non-ED visa is an ED type temporary stay visa issued to those who wish to travel to Thailand for full-time study in state and private educational institutions, internships in government agencies, state enterprises, and international organizations, internships as part of an educational curriculum, and study in other educational curriculums. This Non-ED visa is a single-entry visa with a validity of 3 months from the date of visa application and can stay in Thailand for no more than 90 days.

What is a Non-O (Non-Immigrant Visa O)?

Non-Immigrant “O” or Non-O visa is an O type temporary stay visa issued to those who wish to travel to Thailand for various purposes, such as family members of Thai nationals, dependents of foreigners working or studying in Thailand, volunteers for foundations or charitable organizations, end-of-life (retirement). This Non-O visa is a single-entry visa with a validity of 3 months from the date of visa application and can stay in Thailand for no more than 90 days.

Notification of Stay in the Kingdom of Thailand for Foreigners Staying Over 90 Days

Foreign nationals who are granted temporary permission to stay in the Kingdom of Thailand or who hold a temporary (Non-Immigrant) visa include those with:

  • Business Visa (Non-B)
  • Work Visa (Non-B)
  • Retirement Visa (Non-O)
  • Marriage Visa (Non-O)
  • Dependent Visa (Non-O)
  • Volunteer Visa (Non-O)

If they stay in the Kingdom for more than 90 days, they are required to report their residence to the immigration office every 90 days. If the location has an immigration office, they can report to the officials there. Foreigners who fail to report their stay or report late and have stayed over 90 days are required to report in person and pay a fine of 2,000 Baht.

If they are apprehended for any reason and have not reported, they are subject to a fine of 5,000 Baht as per Section 37(5) of the Immigration Act B.E. 2522 (1979).
